Today we did our own thing Noel golf and horse riding for me. Noel played 18 at the Barna Golf Club which had fantastic views of Galway Bay and Connemara. Noel joined a couple of locals and managed to loose the 7 balls he purchased in the pro shop. If you went off the fairway your ball was gone in the thick scrub.
I went riding at the Feeneys Equestrian Centre. With my guide Alex we rode through the hills of Connemara taking in the breathtaking views of the wild Atlantic Ocean and the Burren. On a clear day you clean see the Aran Islands. My horse was a mare named Charisma and she was a dream to ride. I loved riding again so when I recover from my knee surgery I might have to start riding more often.
Best thing was both the golf course and horse riding are only ten minutes from the hotel.
After a rest we went for a walk around Galway following the River from the Cathedral to the Spanish Arch. We had a look in the Cathedral which was established in 1965 and was built on the site if the old Jail.
The walk along the River Corrib was great and the water flowing very fast. The side canals were amazing as well.
We.got to the Spanish Arch which is from Medieval Galway then walked along Quay St, High St and Shop St which are all pedestrian streets and the in place to be in Galway. Lots if nars and busters. We walked to Eyre Square and had dinner of Irish Stew which was really good. Completed the walk back to the Cathedral to get the car.
