Blackpool and Wrexham

After an early breakfast at 5am the boat docked a little earlier than expected and we disembarked at 5.45am. We headed to Blackpool to hunt Blackpool Rock for my sister Susan.  We arrived early so we took a stroll around but only a few coffee shops were starting to open.  Stopped for a coffee then headed back to the car for a catnap until everything opened.

Blackpool was suddenly alive and the carpark was full.  The place is full of amusement centres that were packed.  They mix kids amusements with adult police machines and coin slots.  Kids are allowed with these machines and we even saw kids playing the coin slots. I was shocked.

We had to have a go at the coin slots and these machines are worse than pokies.  They suck you in big time as they are a challenge and sort of fun.  After 1.5 hours and blowing £12 pounds we walked along the promenade and down along the central pier.  The wind was blowing a gale and the waves were huge. Only the second time I have worn my polar fleece jacket the whole trip.  People were still on the beach however which actually on a nice day would be good.  After some hot donuts we headed back to the car and with our Blackpool Rock began our trip to Wrexham in Northern Wales.

We found my cousins house in Rossett, lucky I remembered what it looked like as they don't have house numbers.  Wonderful to see Jean and Bob again we sat in the sun in their stunning garden chatting and catching up.
